Training a horse can be a challenge. Follow along as I train Jessie using Natural Horsemanship principles. Jessie is a Foundation Quarter Horse born in 2000. Most of the what I learned about horses and horsemanship has come from studying Clinton Anderson's Downunder Horsemanship although I've taken several clinics, studied other trainers, and worked with other horses. Follow along and share our experiences.

It's Raining
The rains came. My little rain gauge had well over 1" of water in it. The pens are flooded. Poor horses. We usually get less than 6" of rain a year. Getting 20% of that in 48 hours is quite unusual. The horses pack down their pens all year long then, when the rain comes, it just forms one big lake. And because the pens are a few inches lower than the surrounding ground, there's no place for the water to drain. More rain is predicted...

Cool photo John. We got your rain only ours is coming down and freezing! My horses are just thrilled about it!
Do you have puddles or little ice ponds? Our poor horses are standing in mud all day.
Both!
